Almost 10% of sunny equatorial Malawi’s grid power now comes from 2 first-ever PV plants (single-axis 60-MW Salima and bifacial 20-MW Golomoti with 5-MW battery). 600 million Africans have no grid power (16% in Malawi), but access may rise 800% by 2050 from rooftop and grid solar, aiding energy sovereignty.
