China’s diesel trucks are shifting to electric. That could change global LNG and diesel demand

China is replacing diesel trucks with EVs, lowering global fuel demand and emissions (one-third from road freight). In 2020, nearly all new trucks in China were diesel. By 2025, battery-powered trucks accounted for 22% of sales and are expected to triple next year. Fasten your seatbelts, China’s trucking fleet is number 2 after the US.
