Electric vehicles emissions outperform petrol cars after 2 years

As noted by PLOS Climate, CO2 emissions from EVs are reduced after 2 years of driving compared to ICE cars. In the US, 28% of GHG emissions come from transport. BEVs have 30% higher lifecycle emissions from mineral extraction and battery production, but 2 to 3.5 times less during vehicle lifetime, which significantly improves climate and air quality.
