Electricity is the ultimate perishable good. Storage is essential, growing 6 times more than forecast. Batteries curtail overbuilding grids, enabling off-peak power. In 2024, over 160 GWh of battery storage was deployed at reduced prices, almost doubling total storage. More storage means more local energy and less transmission.
