Biden vows to replace U.S. government fleet with electric vehicles

Newly elected U.S. president Joe Biden announced that the U.S. fleet of 650,000 vehicles will become electric at a cost of $20 billion. In 2019, government vehicles were driven 4.5 billion miles, consumed 375 million gallons of gas and diesel, and cost $4.4 billion to run. Currently only 3,215 vehiclles are electric. 500,000 charging stations will also be built.
