| Japan | electric vehicles: hydrogen
Toyota will provide 500 hydrogen-powered Mirai fuel-cell vehicles (FCEVs) to the Tokyo Olympics with a goal of 30,000 a year by 2021, ten times current output. Although H2 gas is clean, most is made via CH4 reformation, while only 381 refilling stations were operating worldwide compared to 5.2 million Li-ion battery recharging points at the start of 2019.
