CATL developing 12,000 Wh per kg lithium-air battery

EV batteries are improving as did the internal combustion engine over time. Having mass-produced sodium-ion batteries, the world’s top battery maker CATL is developing a lithium-air battery (Li metal anode, oxygen cathode) with energy density 12,000 Wh/kg, almost equal to gasoline and 40 times lithium-ion (that uses nickel, cobalt, and manganese).
