Interest in EVs surges in Europe as fuel prices jump after Iran war

Online dealers report spikes in EV interest since the start of the US-Iran war as petrol prices rise and grid prices stay relatively stable. Germany’s “E-Auto-Boom” saw a more than 50% monthly rise in inquiries, France’s La Centrale a 160% rise in searches, and UK BEV March registrations a 24% rise from 2025, while petrol/diesel demand was flat or falling.
