Ontario triples energy efficiency programs to save $12.2B over 24 years

Ontario will spend $11 billion to reduce peak grid by 3 GW, saving $12 billion. Demand-side management stimulates the local economy over supply-side builds via home reno point-of-sale rebates on home energy assessments, new windows and doors, insulation, air sealing, smart thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels, battery storage, and appliances.
