World’s biggest flow battery opens in China

The world’s largest vanadium flow battery is now grid-connected. The Dalian Flow Battery Energy Storage Peak-shaving Power Station has a 100 MW/400 MWh capacity and can supply electricity to 200,000 residents. Using liquid electrolyte tanks instead of static electrodes, flow batteries are cheaper, less flamable, and longer-lasting than Li-ion batteries.
