After ending diesel-engine development, Volvo plans 50% BEV sales by 2025. New electric motors means new materials and supply lines. The new core competency includes an in-house-built XC40 Recharge battery, designed to extend battery performance to last the lifetime of the EV, and structural changes to ensure front-end saftey.
