| Detroit | electric vehicles: sales
The GM strike is about the transition to electric vehicles rather than money since EVs have fewer parts and need fewer workers to build. A Chevy Bolt has 125 fewer moving parts than a VW Golf and is easier to assemble, the United Auto Workers union stating that electrification may cost 35,000 jobs. EVs will start to outsell gasmobiles by 2030.
