Caterpillar unveils an all-electric 26-ton excavator with a giant 300 kWh battery pack

A Norwegian construction firm will use 8 all-electric 26-ton Caterpillar excavators, the first of such size, reducing booth air and noise pollution. Each digger is powered by a 3.4-ton 300-kWh battery pack good for about 6 hours. Replacing all 2,500 diesel-powered excavators in Norway would reduce GHG emissions equal to removing 60,000 cars from the roads.
