Most wood energy schemes are a 'disaster' for climate change

A new report notes that counting biomass as "renewable" energy is wrongheaded since burning wood is not carbon neutral and pellet emissions are higher than coal. Highly subsidized, commercial wood burning accounts for about 65% of EU renewable power, yet accelerates global warming. Using uncounted carbon in U.S. forests is even worse.
