Solar panel recycling: A hidden goldmine of raw materials? (video)

There are about 80 million tonnes of PV solar panels, some of which are already in need of recycling. Instead of mining for new materials, silver (half the value), copper, and aluminum can be recovered via separation along with silicon and glass (half by weight). One German company already recycles 8,000 tonnes per year.
