Biden’s climate bill leaves workers behind in shift to electric cars, union says

The head of the 400,000-strong UAW union stated the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act prioritizes carmakers over workers. With a 2030 goal of 50% new car sales to be EVs (1 million in the US so far this year), some workers make only $16.50/hour, yet the public paid for a $9.2-billion industry loan. EVs also require fewer parts and a smaller workforce.
