The US government is awarding $1.7 billion to buy electric and low-emission buses

Funded by the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, the US DOT has granted $1.7 billion to buy 1,700 American-made zero- and low-emission buses, half with zero emissions. The grant includes battery buses, chargers, and electrified depot garages. Roughly $5 billion is earmarked in the next 3 years to green 60,000 buses operating daily.
