World’s largest green hydrogen plant planned to open in South Texas

Green hydrogen (GH2) will be made via a 60-GW electrolyzer powered by wind, solar, and renewables from the ERCOT grid at off-peak times. Stored in existing caverns, the GH2 will be piped to port cities to make green ammonia, aviation fuel, and rocket fuel. The first phase in 2026 uses 2 GW and 2 salt-dome caverns, growing to 50 to provide 6 TWh.
