U.S. DOE announces $20 million to lower costs of geothermal drilling

The Department of Energy announced $20 million funding to develop faster geothermal drilling technologies (increased penetration rate), often more than half the project cost. The goal is to help fossil-fuel companies to convert existing energy infrastructure. Drilling and well service companies, operators, developers, and researchers can apply.
