| Scotland | renewables: tidal
The world's largest tidal turbine at 2 MW, the Orbital O2, started generating power in 35 metres of coastal water anchored in the Fall of Warness, Orkney. Powered by the moon, the output is completely predictable, transmitted to the local onshore grid via a subsea cable to power 2,000 homes and a green hydrogen electrolyser.
