The EIA estimates energy demand will drop 5%, CO2 emissions 7%, and investment 18% in 2020. Oil will drop 8%, natural gas 3%, and coal 7% with renewables up about 1%. Demand is expected to return to pre-crisis levels in 2023 starring renewables: solar is now the “cheapest electricity in history.” In Africa, 600 million people still have no electricity.
