Costa Rica Is at nearly 100% renewable energy for electricity

Costa Rica’s grid may soon be powered entirely by renewable energy as hydro now generates 78%, wind 10%, geothermal 10%, and solar almost 1% (99.62% total in 2019!). With almost 5 million people, Costa Rica wants to become the first 100% carbon-neutral country with plans to add more geothermal power and increase EV uptake.
