Almost all 582,000 public charging outlets in the world in 2017 were conductive plug-ins. Wireless inductive charging will change that. The Brooklyn-based start-up Hevo is building 25 wireless chargers in New York, where space is a premium, to meet the needs of 30 million EVs by 2030. Billions of dollars are at stake in the coming charging infrastructure.
