The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) plans to "green its fleet" with on-board electric batteries only by 2040 to cut GHG emissions by 80% compared to 1990 by 2050. Initially, 30 EV buses from 3 different suppliers will run in 2019 at a total cost of about $1 million each. 195 BEV buses currently operate across North America, only 10 in Canada.
